Lakefront landscape design

Meeting the standards of the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) requires time and an understanding of the permit process. This lakeside space, just steps from a newly designed landscape, incorporates the environmentally sound EGLE rip rap seawall. Proper installation protects local water quality as well as the land from erosion. The installation required a turbidity curtain to trap sediment and a sod BMP zone–an additional area that discourages stormwater runoff pollution. Homeowners can now enjoy the finished product that creates a safe habitat for local wildlife while adding a smooth entryway to the water.
